Sam, a newspaperman, his fiance Missy and his twelve year old son, Henry, move into The Hathaway, an old Mississippi plantation that saw horrible events in its history from the Civil War to a horrendous lynching in the 1920s. Their moving in sets in motion an ancient pattern of revenge administered straight from Hell. When they meet Matilda, a beautiful black folklore professor, they reluctantly learn of the Hathaway Legend and are drawn into a psycho-sexual whirlwind. Matilda's secret academic research, the Hypnogogue Project, reveals a legend known only to local blacks that proves terrifyingly true. The three are thrown into pitched battle with an evil demon bent on destroying not only them, but the world.

About the Author

Ben “BenQQ” Harrison grew up in Memphis with a family tied to Mississippi. His first job after studying journalism and history at Memphis State University was as the sole staffer of the community newspaper for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians in Philadelphia MS. There he researched the notorious deaths of the three civil rights workers and absorbed legends and folklore of the rural blacks and Indians. He worked in communications in Los Angeles and Washington, DC for 21 years and is now based in Memphis where he continues writing and photography.
