About the Author

Vivek V. Ranade is Bernal Chair of Process Engineering at University of Limerick, Ireland and leads ‘multiphase reactors and intensification group’ (https://www.ul.ie/bernal-mring/). His research is focused on developing sustainable and scalable solutions for energy, water, and chemicals using data, models and devices.

Vinay M. Bhandari is a Chief Scientist and Professor-AcSIR at Chemical Engineering & Process Development Division, CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. His research interests include chemical and environmental engineering, advanced separation processes and industrial wastewater treatment, recycle and reuse.

Sanjay Nagarajan is a Research Fellow at Sustainable Environment Research Centre, University of South Wales, UK. His research focuses on harnessing hydrodynamic cavitation and other advanced oxidation processes for intensifying anaerobic digestion and for developing bio-refinery applications.

Varaha P. Sarvothaman is a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Queens University of Belfast, Belfast, UK. His research is on harnessing hydrodynamic cavitation for variety of applications including water treatment, biomass pre-treatment and oxidative desulphurization of liquid fuels.

Alister T. Simpson, PhD, is a principal engineering consultant working for Wilde Analysis Ltd. in Manchester, UK, providing technical consultancy services in the areas of advanced CFD and FEA for clients across the chemical process, power and energy industries. He is a Chartered Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in multiphase flow applications.
