About the Author

Unlike many authors, Judith did not write stories, poems or papers unless it was a classroom assignment until an adult. There were the obligatory birthday and Christmas ‘thank you’ notes but at no time did she see herself as a ‘writer’. Her work in child welfare, adoption and case management for vulnerable adults covered over forty years and thousands of pages of ‘stories’ about the events in her client’s lives but still she didn’t see herself as a ‘writer’. The closest she came to being a ‘writer’ was when she crafted a self-help program based on the work of Dr. William Glasser, MD. In her mind, that didn’t count.

And, not only was she not a writer, she didn’t even read romance.

That is until 1997 when her dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Hours spent sitting with him in hospital rooms, doctor’s offices, or just being with him while he rested on the couch gave her plenty of time to indulge in her favorite pastime of reading. But the books she was used to no longer satisfied. Finishing a psychological thriller, murder mystery, or books about psychological theories of life and death was beyond her.

Not only was her father dying, her mother was very ill and her younger brother was diagnosed with emphysema. Her clients were elderly, vulnerable adults. The only way she closed a case was when they died.

One day at Costco, she picked up a Nora Roberts book. After that she was hooked! Reading romance brought balance to her life. She also joined the Wild Women Writers and started revising her self-help book!

In 2000, when Judith first began having lucid night dreams and vivid day dreams as well as holding conversation with people in her head, she did not rush to see a psychiatrist or go on medication. Instead she saw this as a sign she was supposed to Do something about these stories. Exactly what she wasn’t sure. However, the visions and dreams and conversations didn’t stop!

A decade as a part of sacred women’s circles as well as trainings she took in her early thirties grounded her. She was able to go about her daily life, albeit seeing The Lady in The Sacred Grove from Elizabeth on the hood of her car while driving at freeway speeds was a bit discombobulating!
What is a woman supposed to do when consumed with the compelling stories of fictional women?

The Sacred Women's Circle stories are her answer. May they bring you as much joy when you read them as she found when she wrote them.
