Overview

How Tony Wrote and Published Two Novels is a guidebook to explain how I researched, wrote, edited, published, and marketed two novels in the e-book format. A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists, a Drama, is both Historical Fiction and Christian Fiction. Goodnight Paige is a Contemporary Romance.

After Barnesandnoble.com and on other e-book retailers marketed and sold these two novels, I began to speak locally at various reader forums. I found scattered would-be writers among the audience that had come to hear me talk specifically about one of the novels. Aspiring writers want to know how I did it. They seek a path on how they can do that too. This guidebook helps me to explain to aspiring writers what I have learned that has enabled me to publish my completed novels. Thank you for purchasing it. I will begin by saying what I tell my audiences face-to-face. You can write and publish your novel. You can do it. The only thing that can stop you is you.

About the Author

Tony is a fiction writer and independent publisher. His writing career began shortly after September 30, 1997, when he and his family moved to a new home in Chesapeake, VA. The house was constructed on land with no documented past human habitation. However, within a few months, he noticed signs of early human activity along New Mill Creek, a tributary that drains from The Great Dismal Swamp to the southern branch of the Elizabeth River. Tony researched local library documents to find out what was there. He discovered varied and fascinating evidence of colonial enterprise that dated back to the 1600s and determined to write about what he found. In 2001, he reached a conclusion that the evidence would not support a cohesive piece of non-fiction since the significant human events along the creek spanned several centuries and were disconnected from each other. He decided to join the details through a fictional story while retaining the thorough research techniques that are used by non-fiction writers. In 2004, he completed the story as a novel of fiction titled A Voice from New Mill Creek, but he was unable to obtain a contract with a traditional publisher. The novel was more than 1200 pages long and too bulky to publish. Tony put the story aside, and embarked on other writing projects, which included his completion of other novels of fiction, two of which are yet-to-be published. In September 2012, he released and published the first book of a four-book drama series, A Voice from New Mill Creek: The Methodists, as an e-book. In April, 2013, he released his second e-book and first romance novel, Goodnight Paige. In October 2013, he published How Tony Wrote and Published Two Novels, a guidebook for aspiring writers. Tony is married with two grown children.
