Overview

Looking for a roadmap to help you navigate the exciting, yet unpredictable, waters of the wonderful world of writing? Then you have come to the right place! As a freelance writer and author of more than 40 books, R.T. Byrum has done his homework and put together the roadmap that will help you get published and make all of your writing dreams come true. Walt Disney once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it!" Thankfully, this book validates that philosophy by urging you to "dream big dreams," and use the many resources, tips, links, advice and other tidbits found inside to make those dreams come true.

As a writer, you must take personal responsibility for your writing career. There is no magic pill, no special degree or pixie dust that will enable you to become a published writer. YOU are the only person who can make it happen...and if you are smart enough, you will read and follow the advice of successful writers who have gone before you. The longest journey begins with the first step...so, as Byrum urges within these pages, stop procrastinating and start writing!

Writers write. That's all you need to know. But smart writers do their homework and embrace the techniques and information that is available in this valuable book, How to Write a Book, to help them become better writers.

Here are a few of the topics this "how to" book will cover:

Figuring out if you can be a writer...
The best way to set up the writing workspace...
All the word processor secrets, tips and techniques...
Making money as a freelancer...
Picking a winning genre...
Developing a plot and premise that will sell...
Creating winning characters...
The writing details critical to success...
When is the book done?...
And much more...
