Overview

"But the Dart-In-The Head story always gets everyone's attention. Like all of my other potentially self destructive escapades it proved that I was gifted in a backwards sort of way. I had talents that were the complete and total opposite of what my mom and dad thought I had. I was like Einstein in reverse, There was almost nothing I couldn't turn into a near disaster."

Being a clueless adolescent in the "heartland of suburbia" in the mid-1960's serves as a foundation for accidental self discovery and meaningful realizations about why you can never trust adults to understand a word you are saying or to behave as if they are actually the grown-ups. The author reveals the path to what life is really all about through the influence of unusual good friends, some really bad ideas, and a horse that wouldn't stop galloping.

About the Author

Eric J. Hill has been teaching at St. Bernard's School in Manhattan since 1990, and has worked with horses for his entire life. How To Stick A Dart In Your Head began to take shape about a year ago after several of his students told him to "Write a book about all that stuff you always tell us about." It's possible that they were really aggravated by the fact that he talks way too much and tells the same stories over and over again, but its also possible that they were really just being nice. Eric is also a musician and singer/songwriter who does a lot of good in the world through his music, but that is another story. He writes as much as possible during his lengthy commute from his home in Dutchess County to NYC, and may have a sequel to "Dart" in the works. He is 62 years old but acts like he is 12 or younger. You can email him at if you have any questions or just want to let him know how you are doing.
