About the Author

I am publishing recipes from the files of my Mother, Grandmother and recipes from other members of my family and friends that I have received through the years. When I asked my Mother for her recipes for Mince Meat for pies, I not only recieved the recipe but a jar of mince meat. She had to make it so that she could give me the recipe. It was the same way with fruit cake. I changed the fruit cake recipe a little but the basic recipe stayed the same.
I am very proud to be publishing my Mother's recipes. She and my Grandmother were wonderful cooks and bakers.
My Grandmother was born in Norway and came with her family to the U.S. when she was 3 years old. She had her own homestead in South Dakora in 1908. She married a neighbor and had 6 children. She lost her husband to illness and reared her children on a farm. She was a very strong welled woman. She encouraged her dauvhters to get an education which all 3 did.
I graduated from the Univesity of Minnesota. I worked in retail as assistant buyer, buyer, store merchandise manager, store operation manager and sold real estate. I am now retired and doing e-books as of August of last year.
