How to Achieve Success
If you're looking for the simple secrets to achieve more success and happiness, then this book is for you. Society often compels us to look at what we do wrong and we feel obligated to fix our weaknesses. Maybe It's time to redirect our focus and harness our strengths. Gallup Inc® developed a personal development tool called the Clifton StrengthsFinder®. They have discovered 34 different strengths inside us all.

We had the great pleasure of interviewing 34 strengths coaches from around the world, each having one of these talents as a dominant strength. In this introductory book, we talk to Barbara Bengston who has developed the Achiever® Talent. We discuss why it's important to focus on your strengths and how you can become more energised, less stressed and more successful. Barbara shares how the strength has both hindered and helped her life and how she's developed strategies to achieve success. You can apply these strategies at work, school, in relationships and most importantly, your own personal development.

Although it's not essential to have completed the Clifton StrengthsFinder® to read this book, it does helps (and once you start reading you're probably going to want to know your strengths anyway). Knowing what your good at and why, is phenomenal and trust, focusing on your strengths becomes addictive.

It's time to be accepted for who you are and become the best version of you. Whoever you are. A Strengths-based approach offers a paradigm shift - a completely different way of thinking, feeling and behaving. By focusing on your strengths, you enter into a whole new world of expression. You can be yourself.

You will find a list of the books in the series at the end of each book.

Knowing each other's strengths offers understanding and acceptance allowing for better communication and happiness.

Career
Did you choose your career path based on success at school or was it influenced by those around? Whether you're looking for a career, a promotion or stuck in a dead-end job, understanding your strengths offers purpose. This guide will not tell you what to do, it will share insight on how you may do it successfully.

Sport
Athletes are judged by their actions and behaviours and to become a professional (or semi) athlete you require more than talent. Athletes need to manage their thoughts, emotions and actions. Using this guide, you will understand what separates you from the rest - even in a team environment.

Retirees
If you've finished your career you may be wondering, what's next? There's a chance you've been defined by who and what you were at work. For many, a job gave you purpose and upon retirement that sense of fulfilment is often gone. However, if you're looking for life after work, understanding your talents will give you hope and energy for the next chapter of your life.

About the Author

I’m Danny Crouch from Australia, business coach and trainer by trade, my passion lies in helping others succeed in their endeavours, whether in business, relationships, sport or simply life itself. Coaching for over 20 years, especially entrepreneurs and start-ups, it has become evident that personal development is the foundation for professional development.

When I grew up, bullying was done in the playground not on social media. I was picked on and ridiculed until my early teens in Sydney. I knew what it meant to not fit in and not be accepted. In my mid-teens I was introduced to team sport - cricket, soccer, rugby league and rugby union where I found a home outside of family life. I was athletic, however never considered great, so was always searching for approval and recognition.

Team camaraderie was an addiction as I craved connection.

I started in drafting in early 1990 and retrenched three times in 18 months - last one in was the first one out. Again, I didn't quite fit in. Then I found coaching rugby league and my love of coaching was born. In the mid 90s I started working with a father of a player I coached, who later became a great mentor and client of my first business. A debt collecting business.

Within three years the industry dried up, my fiancée left and my dad died - the beginning of my depression. I gave up team sport. Fled overseas in search of purpose.

For many years I was running small businesses, sub-contracting, consulting, grinding away trying to make a living, always seeming to be chasing my tail. I lost money in business deals, investments, real-estate and more.

Fear started to creep in, was I destined to fail? I began to develop a fear of not being good enough. From childhood the fear of not belonging resurfaced, I felt alone and again struggled with purpose. Depression? Mental Health? Anxiety?

It became evident simply running businesses was not for me. I wanted to help people, I wanted to help business owners.

I became a qualified trainer in Business and Leadership, a credentialed practitioner in Life Coaching and in 2015 I was introduced to the Clifton StrengthsFinder®. My purpose had arrived.

To allow others to understand and focus on their strengths. Know how to identify who they truly are and how they could be their best. No more focusing on weakness, or failure, or not fitting in. It was time to embrace difference and celebrate us for who we are. To focus on our strengths!
