About the Author

The author finished his primary medical education in 1974 in Sofia, Bulgaria and began working as a Neurologist in that same year in the city of Gabrovo, Bulgaria. In 1978 he was accepted into the PhD program in the Neurology Department of Medical Academy, Sofia. He defended his PhD thesis “Carrier Detection in Duchenne and Becker Muscular Dystrophies” in 1981 when he became an Assistant Professor in the Neurology Clinic. He also participated in many international symposiums, conferences and 3 months specialization in Paris, France. In 1992 he was invited by Neurology Clinic, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as a researcher. He successfully completed his medical exam certifications and in 1995 was accepted to the Internship/Residency Neurology program at UTHSCSA, San Antonio. He completed his Fellowship in Neurophysiology at the same institution. He worked as a board-certified neurologist and sleep medicine specialist from 2002 to 2018 in San Antonio and Bulverde, Texas.
