About the Author

Erica Wilson is an English-Journalism and Music Education major at the University of Arkansas. She plays clarinet in the marching band and is a sister of Tau Beta Sigma and Sigma Alpha Iota. When not at school, Erica lives in Denton, TX with her parents and two siblings, Nick and Allie. She is an avid lover of dogs and has three of her own: Pepper, Boston Anne, and Ellie. She has dedicated Hopeful Hearts to her mom, Stephanie Wilson, who is a teacher at E.P. Rayzor Elementary. With her book, Erica hopes to provide a fun tool for parents and teachers to use to help model the behavior of wearing masks for kids as they go back to school. Upon graduation, she hopes to teach clarinet and continue to write children's books. Erica also enjoys writing poetry and stories of the mystery genre.

Emily Holder is an actress and self-taught artist. Throughout her life, she's always been creative and loves to have fun while bringing meaning to the work she creates. She uses the passion she has for acting and art to help others and share hope! Emily is also a very big family lover. Her family means the world to her and her sister Elise has been her best friend from the start. Emily loves kids and was honored to illustrate a book that can help them on their way back to school with all the new safety precautions. She hopes this will be a fun way for kids to learn more about what is going on during this season while also being able to enjoy a bright and colorful book that represents their real life!
