About the Author

My name is M.K. Drewid, I was born in 1991, and I have four children. I was born and raised in Spokane, WA. I have lived in North Dakota, Tennessee and currently Missouri. I have been writing poetry and every now and then short stories since I was about 10 years old.
The poems depicted in this novella are from the ages of 14 years old and on. They depict the different stages I went through and some personal history that happened in my childhood too. I ask of you to not feel bad for me, but to just learn that writing is a wonderfully creative outlet to express yourself.
I wrote most of these poems due to how I was feeling, as a form of expressing myself and putting my feelings into words since I’m not a very good verbal speaker when it comes to my feelings. I understand that a lot of these may seem very gloomy, dark, depressing, but I do have some that are loving, and joyful. I have also had very good experiences with showing friends my poems and them going “This is exactly how I feel! It’s so nice to have someone who understands me on a deeper level!” So, with that being said, I hope that you find these poems to, in short, be helpful, to let you know that you’re not alone in how you feel, and that someone out there does ultimately understand you, especially if or when you feel alone in the world.
As you'll notice in some of the poems here, a friend of mine named Mark Young, wrote them expressly for me and I could not help myself but to share them!
