Overview

Even today, people still refer to America as a "Melting Pot." A country they know as being a land of opportunity, freedom of speech, religious worship, job opportunities, employment, schooling, as well as the pursuit of happiness. But, during the 20th century, America has declined in how it helps its people or the citizens living in this great country of ours. Since immigrants started entering the United States of America in 1882, the 1930s, 1970's, 2007-2009, and 2022-2023. The rise in unemployment, disabled and wounded veterans, drug abuse, mental illness, and high school dropouts, were causes that lead to crises leading to homelessness during those eras. Over the last four centuries, immigrants traveled a great deal to reach America in order to escape religious/political persecution, famine, poverty, racial intolerance, unemployment, health-related political issues, war, and not having the freedom of democracy. Although the lives of immigrants, especially illegal immigrants, and refugees, all had to endure the "backlash" of native citizens of America wanting them to return to the country they came from or escaped from. After reading the short informative e-book, you will be able to understand for yourself why there is still homelessness, human rights issues, and illegal immigration flooding the United States in the 20th century.
