Home of the Brave
Home of the Brave is a unique Young Adult novel which follows five different stories as they all work together to share a heartwarming story of young adulthood and life in the 1970s.
Henry Brave is a medical student from Alabama who is offered a position on the other side of the country as a medical researcher for the San Francisco Board of Health. Against their families wishes, Henry and his wife, Sandy, pack up their family and make the move to San Francisco to start their new life. Once they make it to the city, they learn they aren't the only ones seeking a new life in the coastal city. They settle into a neighborhood known for its gay residents and meet a vibrant new group of friends.
Follow along with teenagers August, Levi, Hayden, Ginny, Mitchell and Billie as they leave their hometowns across America and come together on a journey to find a more accepting place. Together they will learn about love, loss, friendship, growing up, and what it really means to be a family.
