Overview

- Jerrod Maxwell is a Vietnam vet with a secret that has haunted his very being for decades. As complicated as his life already is, it becomes even more so when his best friend, Derek Sims, is brutally murdered and Derek’s blind wife, Kelly is raped.
- Though the murdering rapist, Clinton Hess, is apprehended, things quickly go south from there which leads Maxwell to devise proper retribution for his friends.
Before his groundwork can proceed, however, a late night visit from his dead friend causes Maxwell to wonder if his sanity has finally gone over the edge or if his friend’s spirit has actually come to see him.
- When things begin to happen, such as winning the Lotto as foretold by his dead friend, and items appearing that can’t be explained, Maxwell becomes convinced he is being directed by his dear friend to take a vacation.
- Realizing something isn’t right, Kelly Sims inserts herself into Maxwell’s travel plans in order to protect her friend from himself. But as more of the unexplainable occurs, some in her presence, she soon begins to wonder if instead of being on vacation, she has happened onto a Holy Mission or Crusade to help the most vulnerable among us, children.

About the Author

- Some years back, and I remember the conversation quite clearly, my wife, who at the time was my wife to be, asked what I would really like to do if we needed to relocate because of her job. The answer came to me quite quickly and I think shocked her. To be honest, it even shocked me a little. “I’d like to write novels and bowl professionally.”
- And so it began.
- Much like one of my favorite author’s once said, I can write almost anywhere. As testament to that fact, I wrote several very rough (and I do mean rough) drafts of novels while still working as a machinist during my free time in the shop.
- In 2005, I finally said good-bye to factory life and set about tackling the two things I’d told my wife, and myself, I wanted to do. I bowled full time professionally and did pretty well. I also got serious about writing.
- The novels I write tend to include some facet of my life, whether bowling, working in a factory setting, racing cars (something I did for many years) or just being around people in general. Because of that, I think the average person, both male and female, will easily relate to what I’m thinking and therefore writing. The stories are also usually inspired by people and circumstances that have touched my life in one way or another. They, of course, then get twisted into whatever sort of fiction my disturbed little mind can concoct.
- So take a ride with a fairly normal guy (my wife might argue that point) through my not so normal novels and enjoy!
