About the Author

GEORG MORITZ EBERS [1837-1898] was an Egyptologist and historical novelist. He discovered the Ebers papyrus, one of the oldest preserved medical documents. He was professor of Egyptian language and antiquities at Leipzig. Ebers was a pioneer in popularizing the culture of ancient Egypt through historical fiction.
