About the Author

A native of Tacoma, Nick Peters' writing has appeared in the Puget Sound Business Journal, national magazines and metropolitan newspapers. "Historical Photos of Tacoma" is his second book. His first was "Truman Wilcox: A Visionary Farmer". Peters ran his own ad agency in Seattle for many years. As Vice President and Program Chairman of the Tacoma Historical Society, he sought out and presented speakers vital to the city's history including Murray Morgan, the Northwest's most important writer; Charles Moore, architect of the Washington State History Museum and Phase I of the University of Washington Tacoma; George Weyerhaeuser, Sr.; Admiral James Russell and many others. "Tacoma like most of us has suffered," he said. "It's suffering has given the city unique character."
