His Brother's Legacy
When Edward Weathers left England and restarted his father’s shipping business in South Carolina, he left his younger brother, William, at home to pick up the pieces. Years go by and not only does Edward have a prosperous shipping business, but he becomes a well-known smuggler and a captain in the Continental army.
As war becomes unavoidable between England and her colonies, William is sent to Boston to help keep the peace. He quickly climbs the ladder of command and, as a newly appointed colonel, is sent to help English efforts in the South. He and his men are attacked. His men are slaughtered and William injured. Bleeding and feverish, William makes his way to a nearby farmhouse. He is taken in, his wounds bandaged, and saved from death. After his recovery, William realizes that he has been saved by, none other than, his brother’s wife.
While mourning the death of her husband, Margaret does everything she can to nurse William back to health, hoping to save him in place of the man she couldn’t.
William is forced to come to terms with his hatred and jealousy towards his brother, as well as his growing attachment to his brother’s beautiful wife, Margaret.
Pursued by the arrogant Colonel Pearson, who will stop at nothing to destroy him, William has to protect Margaret, not only from his enemies, but hers as well.
His Brother’s Legacy is a prodigal son parable full of adventure, intrigue, love, and forgiveness.
