About the Author

Dr. Michelle Fennick began her career as an educator over 20 years ago as a teaching assistant and later became a teacher after earning her B.S. at the University of Houston. She was a non-traditional student and graduated cum laude. Michelle has worked at both the elementary and secondary level as a teacher, she has been an athletic coach, district trainer, assistant principal, campus principal and was named First Year Principal of the Year and central office administrator for the nation's seventh largest school district. Dr. Fennick was selected as a Master Teacher in Chicago Public Schools to mentor and coach a cohort of new principals. She received her master’s degree of education and Ph.D. in educational administration from Prairie View A&M. Dr. Fennick was also congratulated on receiving her Ph.D. by the House of Representatives of the Texas Legislature. She has authored and coauthored a long list of educational articles and has received numerous awards. She shared her expertise with others by teaching workshops, public speaking events, and serving on a range of educational committees. She served as a mentor for aspiring administrators. Dr. Fennick is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter. She is happily married to Luther Fennick Jr. and they recently cofounded The Fennick Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Fennick and her daughter Terena Cloud hosted Radio Talk Show, Candid Conversations on MJWJ. Michelle added entrepreneur to her list of accomplishments. She is the President and Owner of Icon Hair & Beauty and FitFierce40+. Dr. Fennick is extremely proud of her daughter, Terena Cloud, a Texas State University graduate who presently works and resides in Austin, Texas.
