Heartcry: Poems of love

Overview

I cannot say that I have ever thought of myself as a poet. But over the past year I have found myself feeling the heart of the poet. I guess the process of organizing some of my old works has shown me that much of my song writing was actually poetry.
This project is the result of the past few years and the title is very appropriate. My heart has been crying and hurting. This happens when you feel the weight of your own humanness hit you. This is what has hit me.
I have begun to write these feelings down on paper and then typed them out for this book. They are my heart and I know that much of them may be only clear to me. They are hard and painful and I know that much of what is written will seem dark.
I hope that you will connect with my heart and know what I am saying. I have expressed much anger about my situation and anger toward God. This is hard to admit but I know that God expects me to be open.
I am opening myself to you, my reader. Have not walked away from God, but instead have been drawn closer to Him through the pain.
Amidst all of this pain and hurt, I have found that He is faithful. Though I am angry and may shout and scream at the heavens, He is ever listening and comforting.
Even at my deepest darkest moment, He is there. This is the God that I serve and forever will lift up my praise. No, I have not forsaken Him, nor has He forsaken me.
If someone would have tried to tell me that I would one day write a collection of poems I would have laughed at them. But as I have worked on this project I have found the words coming easier than at first. I have found that many of the songs I was trying to write were actually poems. But more often they were just short verses or prayers that were being birthed within my heart.
I hope that you will be blessed by these words; often clumsy and cumbersome but from my heart to yours.

About the Author

Randy felt the pull of the Holy Spirit to begin preach-ing for many years. From his early teen years, he knew that God was directing him to the ministry. But it wasn’t until early 1982 that he finally stopped running and surrender-ed. Over the next few years, Randy began working in the surrounding area and doing music and ministry on the weekends. His ministry began to grow and many lives were changed through the power of God.
Over the next eighteen years Randy traveled over many states and situations seeing God use him to reach people through music and teaching; although the road wasn’t always easy. There were places where the ground was hard and unreceptive to any type of ministry. There were also times when the enemy came in like a flood and knocked him around. Randy walked through many personal battles where he has seen the hand of God move in his life.
Randy and Glynnis have chosen to return to the full time ministry with a new fire for evangelism and manifest-ation of the Holy Spirit. Today in Searcy, Arkansas and they work within a local body to see the poor, broken, bruised and abandoned, restored and healed. They believe that God is using them to reach out to the unlovely and forgotten.
Randy is still writing and composing music as well as his collection of novels that speak to the young adult with adventure and spiritual truth. He has also finished a humorous collection of short stories for young teens.
Randy and his wife, have continued working wherever God opens doors. He is continuing with his writing and music; sharing what he has learned to those in need.They have been through may hurts and struggles but have see that God is faithful and true.
“God is in the business of restoration. He desires for the church to be in the same business. We are to go to the poor, the widows, the orphans and the forgotten; just as Jesus did. If we fail to do this we are failing to fulfill the call of God for the church of today.”
