This is a time-tested, practical guide for nurses and other healthcare professionals who wish to transform their healthcare systems based on caring values and the promotion of intra- and inter-professional dialogue among stakeholders. Description: This is a guide to the transformation of the healthcare system based on the concept of caring, a novel and needed approach in the current healthcare environment.
Purpose: The main purpose is to address the changes currently taking place in healthcare systems and the transformation of this system through the eyes of the patient population. This concept based on how healthcare interacts with the population is very worthy.
Audience: This book is written for any healthcare provider, administrator, or graduate student. It is very conceptual for an undergraduate student.
Features: The book discusses the Dance of Caring Persons model and the idea that healthcare reform must be considered through the patient's eyes, not just from the perspective of healthcare professionals. The book looks at this transformation in a very novel way and incorporates wonderful concepts of caring and patient resources. Questions at the end of each chapter and the inclusion of responses by an authority in select areas are both unique and valuable.
Assessment: I enjoyed this book and found the concepts and ideas both relevant and thought provoking. In addition, the review of new healthcare system strategies is very well done and inclusive.
