Haunted Past
by Robert Kanehl

Family secrets have haunted Uncle Spencer all his life, isolating him inside an autistic mind. But when these secrets reach out into the world of his nephew Jake they create nightmares, ghosts, and disturbing visions that tell of a family history too horrible to believe.

The 12-year-old boy moves to Maine and finds a family mystery. Why is his grandmother so secretive? What are the noises he hears at night? Why are his dreams filled with ships and storms and death?

Trapped within Uncle Spencer’s mind is a shameful truth. It is a truth that many New England families have hidden in an effort to put the past behind them. Jake faces off against a revengeful spirit bent on his family’s destruction.

Will he be strong enough to battle the entity, even travel into his uncle’s autistic mind, where words become walls blocking the route back to sanity? And Jake can find an answer there, will he ever find his way back?
