Overview

Drawn from scripture tied to personal experience this 31 day devotional includes original photographs by Pastor Steven E Augustine.

This collection of devotions is designed to show the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You will find stories from the author's life relating to the biblical truths imparted in each of the devotions. The most important part of the devotion is the Word of God. It is His Word that is sharper than a two-edged sword. It is His Word that is profitable for edification and correction. It is His Word that is our necessary daily bread.

The author's greatest desire is that through these devotions you are inspired to spend more time in the written Word, experiencing the presence of the living Word, Jesus Christ, and by doing so be transformed from glory-to-glory.

About the Author

Jesus Christ captured Steve’s heart in 1972 in the summer between his sophomore and junior years at California Lutheran University (Cal Lu). God’s work in his life began while growing up in the Lutheran church in Southern California. That work continued during his year and one-half of duty in the Republic of South Vietnam as an Army counter-mortar repairman. It was during his time in Vietnam that he changed from a good, moral person to one who indulged in all the aspects of life he was taught to avoid growing up in the church.

God’s transforming power radically changed a person who the Christians at Cal Lu thought would be the last person to turn their life over to Jesus. In the years since, Steve was the first assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel Rancho Santa Margarita. He had the privilege of serving as pastor of the Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa’s Worship Community (a group of 100+ singers) and, more recently, served as an assistant pastor at Newport Coast Lighthouse, a Calvary Chapel affiliate church and as a teacher at the Coastal Bible Institute.

Home bible studies are the place where he spends the bulk of his time ministering the word of God. Working full time as a professional in the Information Technology field, home fellowships provide the opportunity to teach, encourage and fellowship with the body of Christ.

“Though I have had the privilege of studying and teaching the word of God for many years, I still consider myself a novice in the Word of God. One of the great blessings of God’s Word is the depths that keep a serious follower of Jesus Christ enthralled for a lifetime.”
