Overview

Assistant District Attorney Judith Adler, head of the Manhattan rape squad, is unmarried, alone, married only to the law. She deals with ravaged women every day—and sometimes with their husbands. But she has never had a case like this one. Inspector Joe Hearn is head of the narcotics division. They have just met, and are dangerously drawn to each other. Hearn is a cop on the rise until a rape occurs which causes him to risk his career and even his life, not to mention Judith’s, as he hunts down the rapist.
“Explosive. Daley plays the full gamut of emotional extremes with the skill of a master.” --Los Angeles Herald Examiner.
“A dandy…a guaranteed page turner about rape and relationships in the New York City police by the author of the wonderful Prince of the City.” U.S.A. Today
“Robert Daley gives you a lot of story. He gives you characters to like and then boils the plot hot enough that you always want to know what happens next.” --Philadephia Inquirer
