Purpose: The purpose of this book is to demonstrate the most used basic and advanced neurointerventional techniques.
Audience: Radiologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, cardiologists, and interventional neuroradiologists are the main audiences for this book.
Features: This is one of the best pocket references in the field, concentrating on specific complex neurovascular anatomy, possible dangerous anatomical connections, and technical nuances in a wide range of cerebrovascular lesions of the brain and spine. It is a practical guide to the anatomy as presented. Each chapter delineates techniques and pitfalls for possible complications. The pocket size is convenient for most interventionalists and fellows and its concise nature allows for a quick review just prior to a procedure. The illustrations are well done and the references are up-to-date to the time of publication.
Assessment: This is an excellent pocket reference in neuroendovascular surgery. However it does not in any way replace the three volumes of Surgical Neuroangiography, 2nd edition, Lasjaunias et al. (Springer, 2001 - 2006). It belongs in any fellow's lab coat pocket and in any large academic library.
