This study is for the creative or non-creative, the perfectionist or the unorganized or the overwhelmed, busy woman. Really, it’s for anyone who desires to develop a relationship with the Lord and create something beautiful in the process.

Why creativity in a devotional? I came up with the idea of having a creative aspect to a devotional study when I became a mom. I had very little quiet time throughout the day and I constantly felt conflicted about what to do with that spare time. Do I clean, create, read, pray, cook, talk to a friend, work on my blog, sleep? Through trial and error, and a few months of not getting in the Word consistently, I knew something had to change.

Creativity refuels me. And while yes, I am a naturally creative person, I also believe that every single one of us is made to create. God created us, this earth, and everything beautiful and wonderful, and we are image-bearers of God. So if you’re a person who thinks you don’t have a creative bone in your body, I would challenge you to go read Genesis 1 and 2. Read about everything that God created and then think about how you bear the image of that creative God.

This study is meant to help you develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word give you some guidance on what you read, and to inspire you to create something simple and beautiful. It is also meant to give you tools to help you meditate and memorize Scripture. With each devotional, there is a verse that you can trace and hang on your fridge, mirror, or wherever you will see it the most during the day. Not only will this give you something beautiful to look at that you created but it will also help you hide God’s Word in your heart.
