Overview

Fun, new and fresh Cajun adaptation of "The Three Bears" is set in South Louisiana in a new hunting camp. It demonstrates the Cajun culture's willingness to forgive and "get on with life" and the firm commitment to hospitality. It has an unexpected and unusual Cajun twist. Enjoyable for all ages.

This story also plays with the similar sounds of words (French / Cajun and English). The example is in the title "Berts" is pronounced in Cajun Dialect as "bears". The names selected for the character suggests to the reader about the character's personality. "DeBert" for example implies, in English "The Bear" or the "Leader". Its a fun play on words and sounds..

About the Author

The Author was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana. The family roots dates back to some of the original Cajun settlers of the new land and includes a geography which encompasses all of area. The deep, rich heritage included oral, French, cultural, religious and family traditions. From this grew a deep sense of enjoyment for listening and sharing stories and the culture. One such indicator of his deep heritage is his Cajun nick names given to him as a child; Nonc Patout, Nonc Poolou...both are worn with equal pride and enjoyment.

Nonc has had fun with this story and playing with the sounds and words for more than 30 years.
