Overview

A Mystery Stone found by the Shenandoah River has designs that resonate with ancient Mississipian art. Could these markings be intentional and inspired by  a culture that existed almost a thousand years ago?  A variety of archetypal images appear to be present on the stone, such as Birdman, twinned humans, and netherworld creatures. When designs and mandalas from Southeastern ceremonial art are overlain atop our dinted stone, we find that beauty and meaning are revealed. You're  invited to take a tour of the Mystery Stone, in which you are often challenged to answer questions the Stone proposes.
