It asks, both in theory and in evidence, whether a change in the growth rate of the economy will affect the level of unemployment which the economy experiences and whether a decline in the level of unemployment will foster or deteriorate the growth performance of the economy.

MARTIN ZAGLER is Associate Professor of Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Austria and visiting professor at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. He has published in a number of learned journals and is the author of Endogenous Growth, Economic Policy, and Market Failures.
