Ground Hog Day
Having a child with any special need can be trying and difficult and completely overwhelming, but then at some point, you realize that these struggles are not always with your child and their disability, it's with the world we live in. It becomes a cycle that can hit you at any moment, but mostly at night. You lay down, try to relax the day away, and all the day's efforts hit you along with everything that is going to happen tomorrow and the next day and the next... It's the ground-hog day that no one talks about—the worries of being a parent of a child that needs more from this world than it can give. Please know that you are not alone in this struggle, this fight for your child's life and what they deserve. I hope that I can help in some way. I am just a parent like you trying to work through our ground-hog day until one day the world helps us get it right.

About the Author

Nydia Caraman was born the youngest of twelve children. Being one of many, she learned early on that family is one of the most important things in life. Watching her parents work hard to provide and care for her and her siblings made a huge impact on her, for she knew that one day, she too would take great care of her husband and children. Marrying and bearing two children young, she began the journey as the mother and wife she wanted to be. Little did she know she would learn so much.
First and foremost, being wife, mother, and grandmother are the most important parts of her life. She has always craved an outlet for her creativity. It began with a passion for photography, grew into a career as a hairstylist, and finally has landed her here, writing this book. Throughout this journey of creating, her family has been constantly learning and experiencing the world in a light that most people don’t get to. Sharing their lives and what they have learned about autism with you is exciting because their goal has always been to help others live life seeing it in the same light as they have.
