Finding solace after loss can be agonizing for nonbelievers, and the grief resources out there don't resonate with you as an atheist. You need real, practical help grounded in evidence, not empty fantasies.
Maybe you lost someone you love, or you're struggling with a major life change. If platitudes and rhetoric ring hollow, this warm, evidence-based guide is for you.
- Learn what grief is and how it affects your mind, body, and emotions.
- Discover and explore research-backed techniques to care for yourself physically and emotionally.
- Debunk myths and social norms that can make you feel worse.
- Access practical tools and resources that you can use now.
Based on science and written with compassion, Grief for Atheists is the best resource for a secular approach to grief.

About the Author

Writing this book and developing the accompanying care package has been a journey. I have explored my own grief experiences while also engaging deeply in the raw, unfiltered grief of other non-believers. I also went to experts. I am so grateful for the generosity of my review team which includes neuroscientists, behavioral health nurses, crisis counselors, and mental health experts of many kinds. I have read and dissected dozens of peer-reviewed scientific papers and also done surveys in the community.
It is my hope that this book and care package fills a void in the atheist and nonbeliever community and provides some comfort and helpful tools to secular people experiencing grief.
I have been creating in the atheist and secular space for over ten years. The goal for all of my work is to celebrate the positive worldview of non-believers and create things that delight our community. You can find me online at BetsyDeVille.com
