JOHN BUCHAN, 1s BARON TWEEDSMUIR (1875-1940),

was a Scottish novelist, historian, biographer and editor. He also served as a lieutenant colonel in the Intelligence Corps, the Director of Information reporting directly to prime mnister David Lloyd George during WWI. This experience greatly influenced his five mystries staring Richard Hannay- an all action hero and British Agent.
