About the Author

The author has been a fulltime outdoor writer/photographer, having started his writing career in high school, for more than 40 years. He writes about all types of wildlife, but specializes in whitetail deer and black bear. At the present time, he has 24 books and two DVDs to his credit, but he has more in the works. He also contributes on a regular basis to a number of outdoor publications on a state and national level. Smith is a life long hunter. Hunting spurred his interest in wildlife. He hunts with cameras year round, using firearms and bow and arrow in season. What he has learned by interviewing many hunters who have taken big bucks has made him a better big buck hunter.
