Overview

Have you ever been confused and frustrated by passages in the Bible that don’t seem to make sense? Have you ever thought that parts of the Bible are contradictory and therefore find it hard to accept any of it as the truth? Do you find yourself more confused than fulfilled when you spend time in the scriptures? Perhaps you are guilty of reading God’s Word with erroneous presuppositions – preconceived ideas and beliefs, which have been taught for generations through mainstream Christian churches. This book is about what we find when we just read the Bible as it is. When we simply read the words in plain English, what does the Bible really say? You may be surprised by what you find is there and also what is not.

About the Author

I do not recall the first time I ever attended church. I was an infant. When people say they grew up in church, they generally mean they attended regularly as a child. I literally grew up in church, or so it seems. If there was any kind of service at our little church, my family was there. Church was more than a priority in our home, it was an obsession. I am thankful that my parents led me in the way of the Lord; however, the faith that I grew up with turned out to be a bit twisted to say the least. And these "truths" that had been engrained in my mind are what formed the presuppositions with which I came to the scriptures. Over the years, as I became an adult and moved away, I was forced to examine these beliefs I grew up with as my husband and I, in our church hunting endeavors, attended church after church which, although they called themselves "Christian" did not behave or believe exactly as I was taught growing up. I had read God's Word and heard it preached regularly. I knew what the Bible said. Or did I?
