Much more visual than the publication's previous home-care title, The Complete Household Handbook, this volume is reminiscent of a Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma catalog, or perhaps a well-tended Pinterest board, with each page containing beautiful photographs of household items and room designs. Section titles reflect a fresh approach, too; Chapter 4 is dubbed "Kitchen Hacks," in the style of popular "life hacks" advice. In addition to general information about various aspects of home care, content includes guidance from the Good Housekeeping Institute, which provides suggestions for buying appliances as well as specific recommendations. Some readers might find the coverage lacking in depth in comparison to previous titles, however many will appreciate the contemporary aesthetic.
