About the Author

Mary Lovel was born on June 17th and was the first-born daughter of Rachel and Frank Zirwes. Her parents would continue raising their family until the children numbered six.
When Mary fell in love with Clyde Lovel, she married him on her 18th birthday. As the eldest daughter, with her many responsibilities toward her younger siblings, Mary felt she was more than ready for a family of her own.
The true American pioneer spirit that lives in Mary's heart is conveyed to the reader in her first two books, "Journey To A Dream" and "Suddenly It's Spring" in these exciting stories about homesteading life in Alaska the reader shares the many adventures, joys, hardships and romance that continue to be part of Mary's life. This is book I of a three book series called, "The Golden Sands Series" The trilogy is a fiction based on fact. That is to say, family ancestral research reveals a Great Grandfather who had a gold mine claim in that same time period in Nome. Mary uses the names of her actual ancestors to create the characters and what she imagines life for her great grandfather would have been like.
Mary's first two books, led to a TV reality series for Discovery Channel called "Railroad Alaska." She has become a local celebrity as fans seeing her on the train heading home, scramble for autographs.
