Overview

"God's Rainbow and My Dream is truly a remarkable journey of heart and soul in discovery of the treasures in life. Because I know the author personally, it touches me more; and because it is all real, the profundity of life makes sense as the Spirit of God weaves events, people, and gifts in and out to make a beautiful tapestry. Mary Juarez touches a spiritual nerve and excites one to faith through her own perceptions and feelings of people in her community and the God who loves her. Poetry narrative, and the sacred scripture run together to make a whole of what could be parts.

Hurt, despair, and grief mix with healing, love, and peace to encourage the reader to go on to find the next lesson buried in life which makes us understand who we are as human beings and why we are here, and especially why we are here together. A sense of community grows as more people who come into the circle of her life, are touched, and therefore ripple out to touch others. A warm feeling comes from reading about these real, down-to-earth people. Nothing fake and no pretense enter in. Ego is left at the door when Mary describes unashamedly her reactions and responses to the good and bad that comes her way. One might call this book a slice of life perhaps, for indeed it is not a full blown autobiography; yet indeed the peeks and valleys are both touched throughout it, and one comes away thinking there is a plan to it all. It is not a difficult plan to perceive, it just requires "faith" to unroll the plan each day as it comes about.

This book can open simple doors for the reader if you let it. It can touch the heart of the matter, this life and how we live it. It is not about a God out there, but a God down here mixing with us and living with us. It reveals a consciousness of faith, an attitude about beginnings and endings, and a forever looking forward with eyes of faith. Somehow reading this book can help one to believe that there are no ending, only new beginnings. It has a true faith and a good love. It helps one walk forward without fear. This book of faith helps one not walking quietly into the night, but rather to walk quietly into the light.

About the Author

Mary C. Juarez was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was adopted at the age of five months.  She went to live with her adoptive parents in the small farming community of Edgerton, Ohio, where she still resides.

She has been writing since she was a teenager.  Mary found her inspiration for writing through God, her family and friends.  Her love for nature, sunsets, and rainbows has drawn her into a deeper love and respect for her Heavenly Father.

Throughout her writing career, she has been published in “The World’s Great Contemporary Poems” by World of Poetry Press 1981, “Famous Poems of theTwentieth Century” by Famous Poets Society in 1996.  She received a Golden Poet Award from the World of Poetry in 1991, and an “Award of Recognition” through the Famous Poets Society in 1996 and 1998.  After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, she wrote a poem titled “A Day That Changed Our Nation” in which she was acknowledged by President Bush by receiving a letter from the White House.  She has also had several articles published in her hometown newspaper over the past several years.

Mary attributes her faith, along with her writings to get through the storms in life.  She says that writing is a healing process for the heart.  She embraces the hard times knowing that the worst of storms can bring about the most colorful rainbows.

Raising three children after a divorce and working in a factory for twenty two years has given her a deep appreciation of hard work, perserverance, and trusting in the Lord.

After her mother passed away twelve years ago, her mother’s dream of Mary publishing a book then became her dream.  Her prayer is that your heart will be filled with hope after reading “God’s Rainbow and My Dream.”
