About the Author

Lincoln M. Alexander graduated from McMaster University and Osgoode Hall law school. Now retired, he is still pursuing a rich and varied life as chancellor of the University of Guelph and member of the board of the Ontario Heritage Trust, the Raptors Foundation, and the Doctor's Hospital, as well several other cultural and charitable organizations.

Herb Shoveller is a journalism graduate of the University of Western Ontario and worked at the London Free Press for two decades before leaving in 2005 to start a writing, editing, and consulting business. His book The Story of Ryan and Jimmy is being published by KidsCan Press in Fall 2006.


Lincoln M. Alexander graduated from McMaster University and Osgoode Hall law school, was elected to the Canadian House of Commons as the Hamilton West representative in 1968, and served as the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 1985 to 1991. He was the chancellor of the University of Guelph and served on the boards of many cultural and charitable organizations.


Herb Shoveller spent twenty-five years in journalism before starting an independent writing and editing business. Among his projects have been the autobiography of Lincoln Alexander, the autobiography of union leader Lynn Williams, and a young readers book, Ryan and Jimmy. He lives in Cambridge, Ontario.
