Overview

Detective Cassie Nash has had a rough two years. After surviving a deadly attack that rocks the lives of the entire Pruitt County Police Department, Cassie and her community are forced to find a way to move on. Friends, family, and a new love interest grant Cassie the fresh start she's needed for so long.

However, the waters never stay calm forever.

While hiking, a man discovers the remains of Makayla Marshall, a teenager who'd gone missing two years prior. In his race to find help, he bumps into Cassie, and she takes control of the situation. She and her partner, Eric Peters, soon discover this isn't an ordinary murder—nothing in Pruitt ever is. The truth of what happened turns out to be more sinister than anyone expected.

In order to solve this horrific crime, Cassie will uncover questionable suspects and acquire help from an unlikely source that steers her toward a cold-blooded killer.

Cassie Nash returns in the fifth and final installment of the Pruitt County Mystery series.
