Ghosts of the past
Frederick Marini is a retired school educator and retired District School Media Director / Librarian PreK-12. He has a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin -Madison and a MS degree from UW LaCrosse. He has served on numerous local, regional, and State Boards and committees.

Major Awards received:
State Superintendent Award 2011 "Standing Up for Rural Wisconsin Schools, Libraries, and Communities" Received the first Follett Corporation / WEMA (Wisconsin Educational Media Association) Library Service Award for Wisconsin.

Having worked with PreK through adults for over 37 years Fred looks forward to writing both fiction and non-fiction Children's books as well as Adult books. Work experience in school districts, Public Libraries, Technical Colleges, and the University, along with some time teaching Adult Educational classes in photography, video, and darkroom essentials have enhanced his abilities to listen, learn, and evolve his skills in research plus pursuing the love of life-long learning.

With his sense of humor plus love of old westerns, action adventures, mysteries & detective stories, older comedies, movies of the 1920's to 1940's, plus love of science fiction you will find it offers up curious combinations of ideas to be creative.

Fred loves traveling to local historical sites, museums, parks, and traveling country roads. Collecting key chains while on family vacations have led to collecting old cameras, old radios, Coca Cola items, old tools, and other eclectic items. He also loves "do-it-yourself" projects.

Beyond that Fred has been active in community involvement, church activities, Knights of Columbus, plus doing historic research, family genealogy, and collecting family stories.
