Overview

Nekisha Mcglothen is a full-time teacher at an elementary school. She found her love for teaching from beautiful memories of her elementary school teachers Ms.Magee and Ms.Smallwood. Her passion for teaching came with such ease because she was always a model student from grade school to college. Her teaching would prove just how much the imagination of an author and students have in common. Armed with her degrees and her skills with literacy she decided to embark on her visions by putting it all in writing. She has always loved stories with excitement because it always kept you wanting more. During the start of her writing journey, life's challenges took a toll on her. A mother of 7 showed to be more difficult as she lost her only son to gun violence. He, much like her, was a model student that definitely left his mark on everyone he ever came in contact with. Her girls proved just how strong her family is by keeping her lifted through it all. It was then that life began to make sense for her again. She knew she had a mission to complete in her son's honor. She became the founder of an annual basketball tournament named K3 in honor of him, whose passion was dominating the court. Her eldest being a Veteran is what gave her the tenacity to complete what she started. Her dancer taught her to enjoy life more. Her middle 3 taught her to always treat herself as the Queen she is. The baby girl taught her to be unapologetically herself."Life is a game of chess so have the best strategy" was a quote of her son's and she moves through life with poise living that quote.
