Getting Kinky

FROM POPULAR AUTHOR OF LGBTQIA ROMANCE M.C. ROTH

Book five in the It’s a Kink Thing series

If your husband hates kink, can you still get kinky?

“You want to kneel, sweetheart?”

Elliot is stuck in life, living a lie while doing his best to pretend he’s happy with his husband Hunter. Hunter has picked up the pieces so many times that Elliot has lost count, and he feels terrible asking for anything more—especially when it’s something that Hunter hates.

But after Elliot convinces Hunter to attend an event at the kink club Unkinked, Elliot finds a place where he doesn’t have to feel ashamed about the submission he craves.

While Hunter pouts on a bar stool in the club, the mysterious Dom Shelvin is more than happy to give Elliot a tour, somehow knowing in moments what Elliot desires so deeply. Elliot can’t let that night be the last time he sets foot inside Unkinked, even if Hunter doesn’t understand why.

His brave face only lasts so long, and soon he confesses what he really needs—something Hunter can’t give him.

But making a contract with a Dom who isn’t his husband comes with conditions—conditions that Elliot will struggle not to break.

About the Author

M.C. Roth lives in Canada and loves every season, even the dreaded Canadian winter. She graduated with honours from the Associate Diploma Program in Veterinary Technology at the University of Guelph before choosing a different career path.

Between caring for her young son, spending time with her husband, and feeding treats to her menagerie of animals, she still spends every spare second devoted to her passion for writing.

She loves growing peppers that are hot enough to make grown men cry, but she doesn’t like spicy food herself. Her favourite thing, other than writing of course, is to find a quiet place in the wilderness and listen to the birds while dreaming about the gorgeous men in her head.

Slipping into the water, Elliot let out a groan at the temperature. It was like fire against his chilled skin, a flush instantly rising to his cheeks. Hunter sighed, leaning against the little inflatable pillow that he had insisted on buying when he’d had the tub installed.

“Get comfy. I want to snuggle,” said Hunter, his eyes barely half-open.

Elliot moved so he was against his own pillow, wincing at the chill of the edge of the tub as it touched him. Hunter was there in moments, leaning against him and giving Elliot the entirety of his weight to catch. He did it with practiced ease, lifting Hunter so his head rested against his shoulder, his face upturned to the ceiling.

“This is so nice. You take such good care of me, baby,” said Hunter, letting out a contented sigh. He moved his hands to Elliot’s legs, slowly wandering upward.

“Of course.” Elliot kissed the top of Hunter’s head, the hair sticking to his lips. Wiping his lips with the back of his hand, he grimaced as a few bubbles managed to slip inside his mouth.

He’d been taking care of Hunter for as long as they’d been together, and he loved him with all of his heart. If only…

“I could stay like this forever.” Hunter rolled in his grip, resting his cheek against Elliot’s collar. “Don’t let me fall asleep, baby.” He let out a yawn that was entirely too cute, one foot peeking out of the bubbles as he stretched.

“I won’t,” Elliot mumbled. He leaned his head against the pillow, trying to let himself sink into the warmth and contentment that was poking at him like a cattle prod. It was just out of his reach.

“You okay?” Hunter asked, his voice a soft grumble. He moved his hand to Elliot’s chest, wet bubbles dripping down his pec.

“Yeah.” Elliot glanced to the side at the cavernous bathroom that his friends loved to tease him about. Hunter and himself both had good jobs and a heck of a balance in their bank account, but he had grown up with almost nothing. He’d gone from sharing a bathroom to one large enough to host a party in, and it still rubbed him the wrong way sometimes.

He sniffed, bringing his hand to his cheek when he felt something rolling down it. His dry fingers that he’d rested on the lip of the tub, came away wet. Blinking in confusion, he stared at the moisture for a moment before bringing it to his lips. It was salty and fresh like he’d always imagined the ocean would be.

Wiping both cheeks harshly, he plunged his hands into the tub, washing all evidence and cupping Hunter to him. His husband was asleep, his soft snores like gentle music that would keep him awake in the dark. It was worse when he was on his back, but on his side, it wasn’t so bad.

Hunter’s dark hair was spread over his chest, each strand like a path in the darkness. He was beautiful and everything that Elliot would ever need. I’m sure of it.

He looked to the ceiling fan that was slowly rattling away as the steam started to lessen. The bath cooled until Hunter was the warmest thing in the room. Elliot’s core was still cold, though—frozen through with no sign of changing any time soon.

“I’ll be fine,” he whispered to himself, clutching Hunter closer. “I won’t lose you.”
