About the Author

Shannon “Shay” Jones Prosser (CDFA® & CCRR®) was a young, single person working at a software company when she began saving for retirement. She wanted to know more about how best to save and how to plan, so she began reading everything she could get her hands on—books, magazines, online articles and calculators. In 2006, she decided to turn a passion into a career and joined a major brokerage house as a financial advisor. She spent her first years in the financial industry, building a career around educating clients. As more and more friends came to her for advice on how to secure their own futures, she realized that there was a greater need. She left the brokerage world to focus her efforts on financial education.

Hallie Gabor Hawkins ( JD, CCRR®) followed a liberal arts undergraduate education by plunging into a tough job market. She began working in the mortgage industry and also worked in health insurance and life insurance before earning her law degree. She practiced law for a while, gaining experience in broad legal issues that ranged from estate planning to real estate closings, debt consolidation, and many other complex issues. Her move to Charlotte brought her to a large corporation—and back to her mortgage ‘roots’. She experienced ‘downsizing’ and started her own business, drawing on that rich background earned over a succession of diverse careers. As fate would have it, a well-timed e-mail from Hallie to Shay about financial planning issues sparked a running conversation. Several conversations later, the two founded Get It Together.

Shay and Hallie have dedicated themselves to helping people take control of their legal and financial lives. This is their first book.

Shannon Prosser and Hallie Hawkins. Get It Together (Kindle Locations 2587-2588). Log Cabin Books.
