Mat Stein is an environmentalist, bestselling author, MIT trained engineer, and green builder. In recognition of his expertise, Stein has appeared on over a hundred radio and television programs and is a repeat guest on dozens of shows, including Fox News, MSNBC, Gary Null, Coast-to-Coast AM, and the Thom Hartmann Show. He has also written a number of articles on the subject of sustainable living and is a guest columnist for the Huffington Post.
Stein has been an active outdoorsman since he was a small child, an extreme skier and climber (over a hundred Yosemite Valley ascents including several El Capitan and Half Dome big walls), and volunteers as a guide and cross country ski instructor for the blind with the Sierra Regional Ski for Light program. He and his wife Josie live in the High Sierra Mountains near Lake Tahoe, California.
