This book is the first Indian publication on these branches of agricultural/biological sciences. It is an attempt to present a compact source of information about all the possible technical terms of entomology, plant pathology and nematology gathered from the vast and widely scattered sources of literature. The book contains about 6500 words on Entomology, Plant Pathology and Nematology given in alphabetical order. To make it more exhaustive, terms from allied sciences like veterinary and medical sciences have also been included. The terms on various aspects of these branches like morphology, anatomy, physiology, and taxonomy, etc. have been defined in a simple and lucid language, with examples whereever necessary. Some of the important insect pests, diseases and nematodes, especially those occurring in India and Asia have also been explained. Care has been taken for including recent nomenclature of various species. The plurals for most of the words have invariably been given and cross references of the words or their I interrelationships with each other have also been mentioned. The coined names, chemical names and trade names of commonly used insecticides and fungicides have been given at the same place to avoid confusion. In case of words having more than one explanations, all the meanings have been cited at the same place. This dictionary will be of immense use to the students, teachers, research workers and others in understanding these highly technical and intricate branches of science. It will also serve a ready source of information for persons 1 dealing with these subjects not only in Agricultural sciences but in basic sciences of I Botany and Zoology also.

About the Author

Keya Sengupta is presently a Professor at Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, formerly, she was with the Department of Economics and Dean, School of Social Sciences of the Assam Central University, Silchar. Prof. Sengupta is engaged in the teaching of Economics for the last thirty years. She has published numerous research papers in journals of repute including Artha Vijnana, Man and Development, Finance India etc. Also, she has presented a good number of papers in national and international seminars and delivered lectures in many universities. Prof Sengupta has also completed major Research Projects of UGC and ICSSR. Currently, she is engaged in a major Project on Human Development funded by UNDP. Recently, she was invited by Foundation Maison des Sciences de 1 ' Hommes Paris, France and visited Paris under the Indo-French Social Scientist Exchange Programme.
