About the Author

Shanaya Daughtrey, born on June 1, 2001, in Torrance California, is a daughter, a Merit Scholar, and an author. She is a well-rounded student who has received numerous academic and student-athlete awards and accolades throughout her school career. Before she began her journey as an aspiring writer, she focused her attention on acting. During her early childhood and middle school years, she participated in acting classes and performed in several professional stage plays. Her self-confidence and a fearless attitude in the public arena and on stage can be associated with the skills that she gained while in acting classes under the direction of her dynamic acting coach, Bethany Price. As a seventeen-year-old student from Lakewood High School, Shanaya Daughtrey is amazingly engaged in the world around her. And, this is made evident in her first book, “Generation Z The Sleeping Giant Awakens …We Have the Power.”

In the Fall of 2019, Shanaya is heading off to college. She was accepted at all of the colleges that she applied to the University of California Berkeley, University of California San Diego, University of California Santa Barbara, The University of Alabama, and Fisk University. She plans to major in political science and broadcast journalism.
