Overview

I knew it was going to be one of those nights as soon as the phone rang at 11:15. It was a State Trooper calling to tell me that my Grandfather had been seriously injured in a car accident. I was listed as his local next-of-kin.

The Trooper indicated that a car had been going too fast around a corner and crashed into my Grandfather's car. Both drivers were okay, but my Grandfather was going to need some surgery.

I put on my clothes and drove to the hospital. I was glad the ambulance had taken my Grandfather to the new hospital and not the old one across town. This one was a lot better of course.
