Overview

Gary Hawkes is a fifteen year old boy who has been struggling with TES (Traumatic Event Syndrome), depression and anger since he was beaten and almost killed in school several years before. His parents sold their house and moved him along with his sisters thirty miles away to give them all a fresh start. Feeling angry, lonely and disenfranchised Gary struggles to just get by a day at a time. One day his father brings him home a wrecked sailboat that he picked up at a construction site and gives it to his son, hoping that as his broken son rebuilds the broken boat, that he will rebuild himself. Gary Hawkes finds himself dealing with his depression, sibling rivalry, teenage love, sacrifice, personal self worth and the sense of accomplishment and healing that comes as he brings a personal dream to reality.
