About the Author

Prof. V.K. Natraj, presently Director, Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai, is a graduate of the universities of Mysore and Oxford. He was professor of Development Studies and Director, Institute of Development Studies, University of Mysore. His interests include decentralization and positive discrimination. He is on the Management Committee of the Development Research Centre for the Future State at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK. Currently, Director of the Institute for International Management and Technology, Gurgaon.

Dr. Kamlesh Misra, graduated with Masters degree in Economics from Allahabad University, India. After completing his Ph.D. at Northeastern University, Boston, he taught there as lecturer. He did his advanced training in Financial Management of Regional and Local Governments from HIID, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA. He served as Economist at Pittsburgh University and HDFC Associate Professor at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi. Strategic Management, Management of Government Finances, Economic Restructuring and Economics of Industry' are the areas of his special interest.

Dr. Neeru Kapoor is a Reader in the Department of Commerce, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi. She obtained her B.Com. (Hons.), M.Com., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Delhi. A number of articles written by her have been published in reputed journals in the field of Marketing, Commerce and Management. Besides Marketing, she has specialised in Advertising, Sales Promotion and Public Relations. Her earlier book Television Advertising and Consumer Response (2003) has been well received in the academic circle.
