Gabbie And The Magical Garden: Novel
Aspiring artist Gabbie (thirteen years old) walks through a magical garden gate into another realm, one where dead things come back to life, and anything Gabbie draws becomes real right before her eyes.

On Halloween, Gabbie misses school to be at the bedside of her dying mother. That same day, back at Riverview Middle School, Gabbie's schoolmate, Josie, goes missing during recess.

Resulting from extreme grief, Gabbie is clinically diagnosed with an overactive imagination. The problem only worsens when Gabbie stumbles into a magical realm where the real and the imagined become one. At first, the realm is Gabbie's perfect escape from grief, as everything she imagines becomes real. Then, things turn frightening when Gabbie learns she isn't the only girl in this world with an overactive imagination.

Through no fault of her own, Gabbie is forced into a potentially-lethal game of hide-and-seek, just like the one Josie was playing when she went missing. As Gabbie uses the magical realm to track down Josie, Josie's own frightened imagination changes the realm around both girls, manifesting plenty of new dangers for Gabbie; dangers she later learns are clues to Josie's whereabouts. The realm becomes the battle of imaginations. Armed with only a drawing pad, pencil, and her own wits, Gabbie must figure out how to overcome the battle of imaginations and find Josie before this awesome and awful world claims them both.
