This soft-covered book covers the basic principles of urine and body fluid analysis. This text uses a format best suited for any educational program of clinical laboratory science. The purpose is to illustrate fundamental principles of urine and body fluid analysis in a format suitable for all students of clinical laboratory science. The text is aimed at students of clinical laboratory science from the undergraduate medical technology student to graduate level medical and nursing students. The postgraduate fellow or resident with an interest in clinical laboratory science would also find the book applicable. This text includes appropriate illustrations of good quality, particularly high-quality color micrographs, which is imperative for the subject material. The study review questions for each chapter make the text best suited for educational programs. The last chapter, with more than two dozen cases, and the appendixes are worthwhile features of the text. This book is a very good fundamental text for illustration of basic principles of urine and body fluid analysis. The illustrations, micrographs, chapter formats, appendixes, and the final chapter devoted to clinical cases all make this text a very good addition to the field. Included are practical chapters on the care and operation of the microscope as well as chapters on relevant safety and quality assurance principles.
